Official Announcement: Applications for Graduate Assistantships

First Semester of the Academic Year 2026/2027 — Master's Degree Programs

The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at Yarmouk University announces the commencement of application submissions for Graduate Assistantships for Master's degree students for the First Semester of the Academic Year 2026/2027. The application period extends from Thursday, July 23, 2026, until Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Interested and eligible candidates must submit their applications electronically as follows:

Prospective / Non-Enrolled Applicants: Apply via the dedicated portal at https://studentship.yu.edu.jo/

Eligibility Criteria and Terms for Graduate Assistantship Applications

(Note: The Graduate Assistantship is awarded on a semester-by-semester basis.)

1.      For New Applicants: Must have submitted a formal application for admission to the respective program in accordance with established procedures.

2.      For Currently Enrolled Students: Must have successfully completed a minimum of nine (9) credit hours of their approved study plan, with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of not less than 88%.

3.      Must be fully dedicated to full-time study and employment/service at Yarmouk University.

4.      Must not be bound by any contractual or employment commitments to any other entity.

5.      Must not be a recipient of any tuition fee waiver, scholarship, or financial aid from Yarmouk University or any external body.

6.      Must have no record of disciplinary sanctions or penalties imposed by the university.

7.      Must possess a Bachelor’s degree cumulative GPA of no less than 84%, or rank among the top three graduates of their graduating class in the same academic year.

8.      The assistantship shall be terminated immediately if the recipient breaches any of the stipulated terms and conditions. Yarmouk University reserves the right to reclaim disbursed funds as appropriate.

9.      Preference shall be given to applicants possessing the specific skills, certificates, and practical experiences required by each academic discipline.

Eligible Master's Degree Programs

Financial Allowance, Tuition Fee Discounts, and Workload Specifications

A. Teaching & Research Assistantships / Temporary Employment:

1.      An 80% tuition fee waiver per credit hour, provided that the student registers for a minimum of six (6) credit hours and a maximum of nine (9) credit hours in the semester, up to the total credit hour limit defined in their study plan.

2.      A monthly financial stipend of 400 JOD (subject to statutory regulations), in exchange for teaching a minimum of nine (9) credit hours (or equivalent workload) per semester, or performing a minimum of thirty (30) work hours per week at Yarmouk University or the Model School.

B. International Student Assistantships:

1.      A 50% tuition fee waiver per credit hour, provided that the student registers for a minimum of six (6) credit hours and a maximum of nine (9) credit hours in the semester, up to the total credit hour limit defined in their study plan.

2.      A monthly financial stipend of 400 JOD (subject to statutory regulations), in exchange for teaching a minimum of nine (9) credit hours (or equivalent workload) per semester, or performing a minimum of thirty (30) work hours per week at Yarmouk University or the Model School.

C. Tuition Discount Regulations:

Tuition fee discounts across all assistantship categories apply strictly to registered credit hour fees within the applicant’s approved study plan limit. The discount does not apply to:

1.      Application fees, admission fees, placement examination fees, language proficiency testing fees, and language requirement preparatory courses.

2.      Semester registration fees and university service fees.

3.      Tuition fees for remedial or prerequisite courses.

4.      Tuition fees for repeated courses, courses taken outside the student’s degree plan, or excess credit hours.
