The Technology Transfer Department works to promote and support scientific research and innovation at Yarmouk University by protecting intellectual property for patents, promoting technological progress and supporting the national and global economy. The department seeks to provide distinguished services to protect and manage intellectual property rights for patents, and to encourage students, faculty and administrative members to achieve excellence in this field.
Objectives of the Technology Transfer Department
- Helping in converting the results of scientific research at the university into commercial products.
- Preserving the intellectual property rights of employees and students at the university.
- Evaluating the possibilities of marketing intellectual property products resulting from the work of researchers at the university.
- Marketing intellectual property products.
- Spreading, disseminating and encouraging the culture of innovation and creativity in the university and the local community, and supporting and sponsoring all educational, training and research activities that can lead to products that can be manufactured and commercialized and the provision of distinguished technical services.
- Preparing a business plan for applied projects and intellectual property outcomes.
- Evaluating the possibility of creating startup companies based on entrepreneurial projects and patents.
- Strengthening the relationship, joint research and development between the university, industry and the private sector, and working to attract investment capital to finance, produce and market creative products for the university family and the local community.

- Study the disclosures submitted to it to evaluate their novelty and industrial applicability through agreements with specialized bodies in this regard prepared for this purpose.
- Studying the potential markets for the disclosures submitted to it through agreements with specialized bodies in this regard is intended for this purpose.
- Studying modern technologies and innovations in the field of disclosures submitted to him through novelty research, or what is called prior art research, using approved websites for this purpose.
- Preparing evaluation reports for each of the disclosures submitted to it and submitting them to the committee. These reports include the types of intellectual property rights that each of these disclosures may have, in addition to the potential markets for them and the costs of filing, registering, and protecting the intellectual property rights.
- Support in drafting the necessary documents for filing and registering applications for intellectual property rights protection with the competent authorities and preparing the necessary legal documents for this through agreements with specialized authorities in this regard prepared for this purpose.
- Assistance in managing institutional intellectual property assets.
- Expressing an opinion on the appropriate mechanisms for commercialization operations, and supporting the committee in preparing recommendations related to commercialization.
- Striving to commercialize intellectual property, including searching for companies, marketing patents to companies through all available means, conducting negotiations, and preparing the necessary legal documents in cooperation with the competent authorities within the university.
- Representing the university before governmental and competent authorities in carrying out the necessary procedures for registering all types of intellectual property.
- Establish working relationships with the research community by establishing networks with the local and global industrial sector.
- Endeavor to provide all information to the committee that will enable it to effectively carry out its tasks assigned to it under the terms of these instructions.
